Twitter #writetip and #EditTip #12

Hello~ Due to my crazy schedule, I haven't been blogging much lately. While I work on my next big blog post, here's the 12th collection of my writing and editing tips from Twitter. As we all know, it's difficult to convey a message when you're on Twitter, which has a limited space. But I do try to be succinct and make the tips easy to understand. They're not grammatical, complete sentences, but I hope they are useful to the writers. But these short tips aren't the only thing I do on this blog!

I've covered the basics of creative writing by doing posts on subjects like POV, prologue, dialogue tags, etc ( long writing and editing tips). There are special posts where indie writers can promote their book, a post with links to over 200 literary agencies, or a post with a collection of commonly misused and confused words. Also, you can read all the guest posts by other writers and editors or read my guest posts on other blogs. So, take a tour of this blog to learn about creative writing and editing. If there's any topic, big or small, that you don't see here and would like me to cover, just let me know. If you need my editing service, please visit my editor website for fees and services. Thanks for visiting my blog. Happy writing~

Newbie #writers' 1st book is a series. Stretching a simple plot to death with unnecessary filler words & scenes

Your eyes miss errors in your MS b/c your brain reads them as how you meant to write them. Read your MS aloud

Be careful taking writing/editing advice from fellow writers. They may mean well, but most had no formal education or training.

Adverbs modify verbs. Hence, they're called adverbs, not adjectives.
"I yelled loudly"--Yes
"I yelled loud"--No!

If writers insist on replacing rich, vivid descriptions with adverbs? I, the editor, insist on deleting those adverbs.

Writers. Lately, I'm seeing MS with all short, impact fragments or comma-filled run-ons. Variety in sentence structure is a must.

Consider editors/betas' advice in MS length. You're writing for readers, not yourself. And they don't want to read an unending book

Writers. Are you writing for yourself or the readers? If you're unwilling to learn/change/adapt, your only audience will be YOU.

If your book is in a genre that has been written to death/saturated the market (ex: para romance), the plot & protagonist MUST stand out.

#Writers! You revise/rewrite. #Editors edit. Leave the editing to the pros, and your MS will be corrected & polished, i.e. publishable.

The effort writers put in to writing something does not automatically entitle them to readers. So keep learning.

Breaking all the rules doesn't make you a "rebel" or "unique." It makes you a "yet another idiot who can't learn the rules."

A basic sentence has a subject, a verb, and an object. When adding a modifier, make it clear which one of those you're modifying.

Building platforms & networking are all good. But first and foremost, a writer must write good books. Or learn how.

Twitter Writetip and EditTip #11

Here's another collection of my latest Twitter write tips and edit tips. Thanks for visiting my blog~

In multi POV, each character must have a distinctive voice. Consistently. It's incredibly hard to do! #writetip #stabbylove Stick with one.
When you're watching a movie, you never know what they're thinking. Yet we can relate and feel for them. That's pure showing.
#stabbylove There are other ways to join phrases/sentences together besides using conjunctions (and, but, or...). Don’t use them 2000 times! #EditTip
Having a wide vocabulary doesn't mean use every word in the dictionary. Use only the ones that fit your genre & voice. #writetip #stabbylove
Writers. Slow pacing due to repetition and redundancy is a guaranteed rejection. Use active, showing prose. #writetip #stabbylove
American writers. Know your spelling. Drop the "e"; you're not British. Salable, likable, movable, etc. #EditTip #writetip #stabbylove
A substantive edit is like a course with a writing coach. Often, writers' skills improve more than the books. #writetip #EditTip #stabbylove
4 am #writetip Don't use bland verbs with adverbs. Instead, use a single, evocative verb. Ex: jump=good; get up quickly=bad #stabbylove
In a good book, an antagonist must have layered, complex characteristics. You can't just make him "villainy" for no good reason. #writetip
Don't overuse hyphenated/compound words. Single adjective would suffice. Especially if those words are wrong. #writetip #stabbylove #edittip
Writers! Invest time/money & produce quality books. Writing IS a business. 99¢ doesn't justify poor quality. Readers won't fall for it twice

Writing is personal; publishing isn't. It's a profit-earning business that requires time/$ investment. Grow thick skin & be professional #stabbylove
Writers take advice from writers/random bloggers but not literary pros(editor/agent/teacher) Where's the logic in that? #edittip #stabbylove
Why can't you get DUNNO ALRIGHT AIN'T don't belong in professional writing except in dialogue? Use them in text messages like any dumb 13 y/o
Quotation marks don't make DIALOGUE. They're spoken words that help narrate the story and exhibit each character's distinct VOICE. #writetip

Twitter Writetip and EditTip #10

I can't believe that it's the 10th collection of my Twitter writing and editing tips. It's hard to put everything in 140 spaces, but I try. And I'll keep tweeting the tips for writers as long as someone is reading them. Check out my edit services www.sirraedits.com Happy writing~

Limited dialogue and actions equate to one-dimensional characters. Give them more. They're humans, not bots. #stabbylove #writetip #EditTip
Conditional sentence: use WERE not WAS in the IF clauses. Ex: If I were rich, I'd stab with a diamond-blade sword. #writetip #stabbylove ^.^
Readers don't need to read minds to understand. If writers can give imaginative & vivid writing, there's no need for multi POV #writetip
Self-indulgence will kill a book. Invoke feelings in your readers, not get lost in your characters' emotions. #stabbylove #writetip #EditTip
Dictionary/thesaurus are writers’ best friends. When in doubt, look it up. Especially the correct definition! #stabbylove #writetip #EditTip
Dialogues must be indicative of characters' age, personality, & language style. All characters must have distinct voices. #writetip #EditTip
The subject & content decide if a book is YA or adult. Not the level of writing. Kids’ books don’t mean elementary writing #stabbylove
Still catching tons of "as if" or "like" comparisons in writing. It's like the writer got lazy and stopped describing. #stabbylove #EditTip
There's a universal theme in novice #writers. They always rely on pretentious words to make their book "sophisticated." #stabbylove #writetip
1) #writers Don't look for new, fancy words to describe same thing. Use your imagination. Find new things to describe #writetip #stabbylove GRRR
2) Don't use hard, technical words to dress up your MS. Especially if you don't know the definition or the correct usage! #writetip #stabbylove
3) Know the definition of every word you use. And mean every word. Or you create factual inaccuracies & inconsistencies. #writetip #stabbylove
#Writers. How many words in your MS are filler words? You know, the words that don't add anything to the story? Delete. #stabbylove #EditTip
Writers who think they can edit their books objectively are either delusional or narcissistic. Or both. Even editors need editors. #writetip
Present tense gives immediacy.But mixed w/ short/choppy sentence/fragments, it's like a crack-addict on speed wrote it #writetip #stabbylove

#writers DON'T ASSUME definitions. Use the dictionary. Every word in your book should be written with intention!!! #writetip #EditTip
#writers Don't limit yourself to 1 genre, target age group, or POV style. Then your writing and creativity will suffer. #writetip #amwriting
Slanting sideways. Blending together. Scream loudly. Whispered quietly. Stand on feet. Reading with eyes. REDUNDANT! #EditTip #stabbylove
Purple prose. It has to be relevant and relate to the story. Don't use it in your book just because they sound pretty. #writetip #stabbylove
2 or even multi POV, I can tolerate. Barely. But what if they're in the same scene? Abandon the MC's POV? Head-hop? Just not right. #writetip
#writers Use ITALICS to emphasize and QUOTATION MARKS for direct quotes. Make the distinction. #writetip #stabbylove

Twitter Writetip & EditTip Collection #9

Here's the 9th collection of my Twitter writing and editing tips. As always, I had to make them short due to the space limit. If you have any question, just leave it in the comment section or tweet me. And if you're interested in my editing service, please visit my editor website. Thanks for visiting~

If your book has an ordinary/simple plot, don't stretch it into a series just for the sake of it. Not every book has a rich, epic plot.
A rule of thumb. Don't use 25 words to say something that can be said with 5. Learn to be succinct. Delete. #stabbylove #writetip
Disguise them with commas and dashes all you want. They're still run-on sentences. You're not fooling me. -_- #stabbylove
Comma splices are the most common problem for writers. When in doubt, just break up the sentence. Don't stick commas everywhere! #writetip
Creative writing is much more than spelling/grammar. Hence, an English teacher doesn't mean an editor. Look up substantive editing. #EditTip
I can always tell a newbie writer from the amount of purple prose they use. I don't care how sunlight shone through the window! #stabbylove
Can you imagine if LOTR was written with a bunch of flowery, purple prose? Save for literary fiction where it may fit. #writetip #EditTip
Writers afraid of getting beta readers in fear of story being stolen. Um...nothing is original. It's all been written. It's how you execute.
Back to #amediting. I'm constantly amazed at a writer's inability to use Search/Find function to check some words for over usage. #writetip
Visualize what your characters are doing before you write. Clearly. Don't just write random words that come to mind. #stabbylove
I want to know what the protagonist looks like within first few pages. No info. dumping, just the physical characteristics. Is it just me?
Age appropriate theme & language may seem elusive regarding YA and YA crossover. But remember that children are your audience. #stabbylove
So far, my morning bathroom read was full of "I'm sad," he said sadly, in a sad voice. Lemme guess. He's sad? Ptooie. I need a shower.
Honestly, writers, READ YOUR MS OUT LOUD. It's important to check the fluidity of your words! Well-written words SOUND good, too. #writetip
Assign dialogue tags and action tags to the right speaker/do-er. Those by a different character needs to be in another line. #writetip
Don't rely on comparisons, metaphors, or cliches. You're a writer. Write clear, vivid descriptions in your own words. #stabbylove #writetip
Distinguish between FARTHER & FURTHER. Farther has "far" it it, so it's physical distance. The other is the metaphorical distance. #writetip
1)Writers. Don't ever use superlative in absolutes like "dead." You're either alive or dead. Never most dead or deadest. #writetip #stabbylove
2)Yeah. Especially when you can't use "most" and "iest" together. It's either or. They just won't learn... #stabbylove
1)Once I read a MS that went on and on about the room with unnecessary descriptions. Thought I was reading Architectural Digest. #stabbylove
2)Why should I care if an old, faded curtain in 3 shades of reds hung 5 inches, neatly over a 3x3 wood-framed window? Move on! #stabbylove
Don't let your prejudices or stereotyping bleed into your books unless your character is a bigot. Ignorance and bad grammar make bad books.

Twitter Writetip & EditTip Collection #8

This is the 8th installment of my twitter writetip collection. As I tweet these short tips and advice, I wonder if any of them need to be elaborated on. If you have a suggestion on the next blog post, please feel free to tweet me or comment here. I'd love to do more helpful posts. As always, good luck with your writing~~

#writers Please use contractions. Unless, you want your characters to sound like Data from Star Trek. #writetip #amwriting
#stabbylove Writers~ Remember the 3 Rs. Revise. Rewrite. Repeat. Send MS to beta readers. Now do the REP. Revise. Edit. Proofread. #writetip
#Writers Read the books before you promote or RT. And be honest. Stop the stroking. You're ruining our industry. #bogusreviews
Be careful of using slangs. They can "age" a novel up or down. And most of them are cliches. #writetip #amwriting
Robot says, "I had been waiting, but you did not come." Real people say, "I waited, but you didn't come." #writetip Write realistic dialogue.
Using SUDDENLY or THEN to link events or to give immediacy is a lazy and elementary way to do it. Be CREATIVE in creative writing. #writetip
#writersAnother word you should avoid like the plague is YOU. Unless you're writing in 2nd POV. Either way, it's jarring madness. #writetip
Please, do not forget that dialogue is spoken language although you’re writing it. Don’t use acronyms or abbreviations! #writetip #stabbylove
Sometimes, you write dialogue or action. Then go on to explain. That’s very redundant. Very telling. #stabbylove
Actions in action scene should be in chronological order. Nothing worse than a flashback in the middle of stabbing. #stabbylove #writetip
1) Battle scene. Don't over explain. Make every word active. Let them count #stabbylove

2) #stabbylove Doesn't mean action scene should be full of 3-word impact sentences. Describe but without too many adverbs "ly" words.

#writetip Check MS for sentence structure pattern. Do you bombard readers with long run-ons or choppy short ones? mix them up. #stabbylove
Comma splices are the most common problem for writers. When in doubt, just break up the sentence. Don't stick commas everywhere! #writetip

There are 3 types of dialogue: internal, buried, and spoken. A writer should know the difference and when to use them. #writetip
Assign dialogue tags and action tags to the right speaker/do-er. Those by a different character needs to be in another line. #writetip

Twitter Writetip & EditTip Collection #7

Here's the 7th collection of my writing tips from Twitter. I didn't realize how many of these I do... But in case you missed them, here they are~ Thanks for visiting my blog.

Big problem among amateur writers is starting sentences with I/he/she. It's a book, not a journal. Write alternative starts. #writetip
Multiple POV is a direct result of a writer's inability to narrate by actions/descriptions alone. Show, don't tell(headhop). #stabbylove
8/10 newbies exhibit SAME problem. Can't write in 1 POV. You aren't unique. Trust me. You'll learn to tell a story via 1 voice (POV) someday
Writers are doing a great disservice believing writing alone is enough.Take courses.Read textbooks.Without a solid foundation, you're doomed
Give your character a voice with dialogue as well as action. Telling description makes your character flat and boring. #writetip #stabbylove
You know when you see MS on computer screen? You squint, it kind of looks good. Print it out! Atrocious writing will reveal itself #writetip
#stabbylove Another common mistake. Either, neither, each, none, any, one are singular. Use is/was. Ex: Neither of them is right. #writetip
The difference between that/which. Use that for restrictive clauses. Use which for non-restrictive clauses with commas around it. #writetip
#stabbylove Let there be some white spaces in your MS i.e. dialogue. It can't all be narration. Flat and boring.
The biggest cliche moment: When your MC looks in the mirror to describe physical characteristics. Unless it's warranted, DON'T #writetip
Weave char description(their looks) into the narration and/or actions. Don't list them like you're reading if off of an ID card. #stabbylove
I can't stress enough how important nailing the "voice" is. Keep gender, age, and personality accurate & consistent. #stabbylove
Check your MS for overall ratio of dialogue/description. Be sure you don't lack dialogue. No one wants to read a telling summary. #stabbylove
Too much Dialogue? Not if the it adds essential elements of the story. Characters show their actions/agendas through their speech. Voice, too.
Subject is the actor/doer. In "I love you", I'm the subject. Love is the action. You're the object of my love. #stabbylove

Twitter Writetip and EditTip #6

This is the 6th edition of my Twitter writetip collections. For those of you who are not familiar, I tweet short writing tips on Twitter from time to time. Some people do miss the tweets, so I put them together and post them on my blog every 2 weeks. I hope you find them helpful. If you have a general question about writing or editing, you can post a comment here. If you have a manuscript/query letter & synopsis/blog posts/short stories editing and beta reading service question, visit my editor website or email me at sirraedits@gmail.com. Thanks~

Another cliche I can do without. "Silence is deafening." No, it's not. So stop using it.#writetip #amediting
It's like this book is a treasure trove of cliches. "Beating around the bush" Unless your MC is actually doing it, don't use it!! #writetip
"Hello." She said. <--Nooo! "Hello," she said. <--Yes!! Please take note.#writetip
Unless it's action. Like this. "No." She stabbed.#writetip
Beta readers: Be helpful. Be prompt. Finish. Writers: Don't be douchey. Say thank you even if you don't agree. Manners, folks. #stabbylove
Just a quick #writetip If you plan to query your book in U.S. you must have 3 different length synopsis. 1 page, 2-3 page, and 5 page.
Don't use ( ) or text lingo/abbreviation in dialogue. No one talks that way. Ex: "I lol so much btw b/c it was so (funny)." Crazy! #writetip
Writers often read outside of their genre. Reading is good but you must read your own genre especially if audience age differs.#writetip
Writing exercise. Take a page out of your WIP and rewrite in different POV and tense. It's a great way to get the juice flowing! #writetip
Some of your run-on sentences are too long. Read it aloud. You'll realize it when your face turns blue from lack of oxygen. #writetip
Lunch break from #amediting Writers. Using fancy words doesn't make your books intelligent. The plot does. Focus on better plots! #writetip
Use Past Perfect Tense only when necessary. Ex: "I have had a lot of experience." is so passive. "I'm experienced." sounds better. #writetip
Don't overuse past perfect (ex: have had). Try to use it in flashbacks (real past) only. It can make your writing so passive. #writetip
If you have a modifier (word/clause/phrase) at the beginning of the sentence, it must modify the very next word (subject). #writetip
Writers! If you start w/ an introductory phrase like "In conclusion" "Finally" "In my mind" Put a comma right after it. #writetip #amwriting

Twitter Writetip and EditTip #5

Hello. It's been a busy month on Twitter. Here are the selected writing tips I put on there. Thanks for visiting my blog, and please check out my editor website for my professional editing services. Remember. These tips come from a loving place.

If your MC’s doing things that defy the laws of physic or logic...give him a cape or something. Make me believe. Even in fantasy. #writetip
"Voice" has nothing to do with POV types. It has everything to do with words you use & how you put them together. Think, writers. #writetip
Don't put many subjects and action verbs in one sentence. That almost always ends up being a run-on sentence. Separate them. #writetip
One general advice. If is a public forum you're using to promote yourself or your books, don't be a douche. A word of mouth travels fast.
Authors. Facebook acct. can be viewed only by acct. holders & is more a personal forum. Plus, a blog/website looks more professional, IMHO.
It's ironic that writers who are firm in real life have the most "passive voice" in their writing. Don't pull back. Use your funk. #writetip
Use Read Aloud Apps to have the MS read to you. It's perfect for spotting missing words & checking for fluidity during final edit. #writetip
your/you're their/there its/it's necessity/necessary peak/peek staring/starring Come on, writers. Come on. Learn. #writetip #stabby
Subplots & supporting characters. They can't be one-dimensional page fillers. They must have merit & must relate to the main plot. #writetip
#amediting Just a note to YA writers. Check with real teens before using teen slang/lingo in your book. Make sure they're not from the 80s.
For me(editor), a synopsis is a clue. It tells me where you think your book is going. Your MS shows me where it went. Then I edit. #writetip
A query must introduce the protagonist, conflict, what's at stake, and what must be done. Synopsis? All of those with an ending. #writetip
I hate repeating. But I must. Again. PLEASE. For the love of everything literary, no fiction novels. It's like...female woman. REDUNDANT.
If your book has Romance element, don't make it "OMG, I have 2 guys. Which one do I do?" Add some real conflict, Okay? #writetip #amediting
Voice. Too much makes the book read like your memoir. Too little makes it read like a long, dry summary. Balance.
Writers. You can't put random sentences together and call it a paragraph. They need to relate. To a character/event/time. #writetip #stabby

Twitter Writetip and EditTip #4

This is my 4th collection of my Twitter writing and editing tips. Spaces are limited, so some are very short and blunt. And stabby… Just know that it comes from a good place (my wanting to help you and spread the good message).

And you can't put a bunch of phrases together & call it a sentence. It's crazy. Subject-verb relation has to be there. #writetip #amediting
When two independent clauses are joined by a coordinating conjunction, use a comma to separate them. RUN ON SENTENCE HELL. #writetip #stabby
VOICE is EVERYTHING. Reading YA should make me feel like a 14 y/o girl. It should suck me into the world of shallow teen angst. #writetip
Hate to repeat my self but use ###,***,@@@ or anything for a scene break in your MS. Double double spacing is LUNACY! #writetip
Sanity returns. VOICE. Your MC must be proactive, not reactive. Give your MC a personality. They're not drones. SHOW ME THE VOICE. #writetip
Writers like to play with different POV, POV shifts, POV Type shifts. That's just it. You're playing. Keep that out of your books. #writetip
Writers. There's a limit to how much slangs and trendy terms you should use. Think long term. They might not make sense in 5 yrs. #writetip
Um....hello. How many times did I say to stop using LOL, ROFL, SRSLY in a book? Let alone in a dialogue? DELETE! #writetip
Vocabulary. You don't need a dictionary to read Hemingway. Sometimes, the simplest words can convey the most complex message. #writetip
Sometimes, the issue isn't the writing or the plot. It's the POV. Writers must learn about each POV types and use them correctly. #writetip
I appreciate writer's creativity to come up with maps & funky names in books. But taking notes just to remember who & where sucks. #writetip
Do not use UNDERLINE in the MS. Quote or italicize to emphasize or express words or thoughts. And certainly don't italicize the entire MS.O_@
Yes. There are many many many adverbs and adjectives. But you don't have to use them. Like all the time. In the same sentence. #writetip
Can one hiss angrily as he grimaced furiously, frowning causing his eyes to squint violently? Dunno. I'm no genius. Duh.
No need for fuc* sh** co** bit** Spell them out. That's what makes Adult Novels. Adult language. This isn't Disney books. Hello. #writetip
Readers get lost in Fantasy because the world in it is relatable and believable. Remember writers. Fantasy does not mean crazy. #writetip
Part 2. Soooo, leave some of your crazies out of your book. Even in fantasy, that is like **&*%%#@ crazy. Hello.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Click here  if you want to know about my professional editing services. Happy writing~

Twitter Writetip and EditTip #3

Thanks for visiting my blog to read all the writing and editing tips. I can't believe this is the 3rd edition. I guess I do give a lot of advice on Twitter. Or vent :-P Anyway, enjoy~

Found 23 "finally" & "immediately" in 2 chapters alone. In the same book. Telling and overused "ly" adverbs get me. In a bad way. #writetip
Another common mistake. Staring means to stare. Starring means to star in a performance. Not that hard. It's English. #writetip #dictionary
Does anyone really growl, hiss, spit, bellow, shriek, or roar? SAID would suffice. Dialogue tag fail. #stabby #deleting #writetip
Writers! Run a Word-check on your MS. Try to limit the usage of the words "that" and "just." REPETITION is not good #writetip #pubwrite
Another dialogue tag fail. Agreed, commented, instructed, remarked, explained, lectured, reported, repeated... USE SAID #writetip #telling
Thanks for a disclaimer telling me your book is fictional. For a moment there, I thought I was pulled into a new world. An unbelievable one.
It's not right to promote a book purely out of reciprocation or friendship. Especially if it's crap. It gives indiepub a bad name #StrokeJob
#writetip There is no room for factual inaccuracies even in fiction. It's a fantasy world, not a crazy one. Enough #amediting this morning.
Fragmented sentences are like opening another door without closing the first one. And there are no closure for either. #writetip #pubwrite
IMPACT SENTENCES(1-word or fragmented sentences) Excellent when done right, but too much makes it choppy. Stab. #writetip #pubwrite #writers
I'm still seeing too many "just" "that" "very" "as" in manuscripts. Use word-find function to avoid repetition of any words. #writetip
Avoid head-hopping. If not, keep to a minimum by having one character's thoughts confined in one separate paragraph. #writetip #cheating

Professional Edit isn't luxury. It maybe a necessity and what separates a polished, salable manuscript from a trunked one. #writetip #editor
Don't ever do a flashback within a flashback. That's just crazy. Well, unless you want to drive your readers mad... #writetip #writing

I think as we learn and grow as writers as we write. It's good to try new things but old wisdom never fails. (Re: flashbacks within a flashback.)

Twitter Writetip and EditTip #2

Here's another collection of my short write tips on Twitter in case you missed it. For professional editing services, click here. Thanks, and happy writing~

Refrain from using your MC’s name in every dialogue. By pg 53, we know his name, he knows, and so do the other characters. #writetip
High fantasy world-building doesn’t mean you should write a geographical essay including a map. It’s been done. And some were unnecessary. #writetip
There’s a disconnect between realism and fantasy. And crazy. Don’t want to see the softer side of homicidal beasts in Urban Fantasy. It’s wussy. #writetip
Appreciate refined & vivid descriptions. But not long-winded ones. Like in life, I like to get there. While I'm still in the mood. #writetip
Looong death scene. This character is like Paranormal Godfather. Stabbed & mutilated for 2 pages. Still talking. Just die already.#writetip
It’s important to SHOW not tell. But don’t write a 50-word sentence w/ 4 commas. Saw too much and got lost. #amediting #amconfused #writetip
PASSIVE VOICE. Don't slow down the scene by using words like "began" "tried" and "started." #JustDoIt #amediting #writers #writetip
PASSIVE "His seemingly sexy appearance may have felt very pleasing to my eyes & made me feel something nice" ACTIVE "He was hot."#writetip
Hate 2nd POV in Present Tense. It’s like reading a stalker’s diary. (Your heart pounds as you see me watching you...) See? Creepy. #writetip
Dialogues. Writers! Fight the urge to do this !!! Not only is it jarring to the eyes, I lost my voice reading it aloud. #writetip #UseWords
All writers must acquire the basic etiquette of giving/receiving critiques. Don't get stabby when you receive criticism. #writetip #writers
I feel the need to balance my tweets with a normal one. Here's a simple #writetip Read MS aloud for fluidity. Makes a world of difference.
There's a fine line between realistic & stupid dialogues. Don't use awesome or fab when the world is at stake. They cheapen it. #writetip
Have an ENDING to your novel. Delay only if it's a part of a series. "There is no there" applies only in yoga! #stabby #writetip #amediting
